After digesting the implications of the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), Vultee developed its V-12 attack bomber into more powerful V-72 dive bomber. The fresh design was ordered by the British during 1940. To meet British orders production lines were established by Northrop as well as Vultee to make the Vengeance MKs I and II respectively. |
