Boeing E 767 AWACS

The only air arm that has purchased the 767 AWACS to date is Japan, which has received four although a requirement is understood to exist for another four. The initial pair of aircraft was handed over at Boeing's Seattle factory on March 11,1998, and being joined by the second pair at the beginning 0f 1999. All for are currently assigned to the 601 Squadron , operating from Hamamatsu Air Base.
