| Major Bill Elander, our 1970-1971 Material Officer and air show Safety observer. Bill would later be shot down over North Vietnam in 1972 and captured and tortured as a POW for almost 9 months. He was released in 1973 during Operation Homecoming. Thank God. Many of his aviation comrades were not so lucky.....such as former F-4J Blue Angel Leader - Harley Hall. Cmdr Hall would be the last American pilot to be shot down and killed over the skies of Vietnam. |
