Jim Patton Test Pilot with a T-38A in 1974

Mr. Patton began flying as a sophomore in high school at Lockhart, Texas.  He started his career as a Naval Aviator and flew off several straight-deck carriers. He is an aeronautical engineer and served as a FAA flight test pilot for 8 years. Then he was a research pilot and Chief of Flight Operations at NASA Langley for 21 years. He retired from NASA in 1987 and continued as an independent test pilot until 2003.

I would like to thank Mr. Patton for all his help with the information and photos on the following pages.
