This G-2A Galeb of the Yugoslav air force has two nose-mounted machine guns and underwing hardpoints for the carriage of light weapons. The rear seat is fitted with green curtains for instrument flight training.

Armament: two 0.312-in (7.92-mm) fixed machine guns and two air to surface rockets and two 220-lb bombs.
Engine:  two 0.312-in( 447-kw) Pratt & Whitney R-340-AN-1 radial piston engine.

Although it is not readily apparent in this view, that emphasize the bluff nose round the radial engine, the Type 522 was a half-brother to the Type 513 Vihor, itself inspired by the German Ar 96 trainer used in the Second World War.

Max Speed: 565 mph at 19,685 ft.
Climb Rate: 7,645 ft.
Service Ceiling: 49,215 ft.
Range: radius 186 miles.
Armament: ne 23-mm twin-barrel cannon in a ventral pack, and provision for 4,299 lb of disposable stores.
Engine: one 4,000-lb (1,814-kg) thrust Roll-Royce Viper Mk 632 turbojet.

In aerodynamic terms the G-4 has much in common with the BAc Hawk, but the type has turbojet power and considerable less comprehensive avionics. External stores are carried on four underwing hardpoints.
